GARBAGE SERVICES:
  • Is it mandatory to receive garbage service within the corporate limits of the Town and is there a charge for this service? Yes. There is a fee of $10.00 per month per roll cart for the service. This fee is included on your monthly water bill.

  • How do I receive a 90-gallon roll cart for garbage service within the corporate limits and is there a registration fee for the roll cart? You must fill out an application form and pay a registration fee of $35.00 to have a roll cart delivered. You can receive an application by going to the Administrative Department at Town Hall located at 118 Carolina Avenue. Roll Cart Application

    • Can I register for more than one roll cart? Yes. You may register for more than one roll cart but the cost is still $35.00 per cart and a charge of $10.00 for each roll cart will be included on your water bill for the monthly service.
  • Is yard debris or other household items included in the garbage service? Yes, but limited. There are certain items that can be picked up and certain rules that have to be followed in order for these special items to be picked up. These items are normally picked up on Fridays but sometimes the contractor may ask that some items be picked up on special days. For your convenience, you may call our garbage contractor, Suburban Disposal Company at 1-800-521-1797 to let them know what items you have and to inquire about what days they can be picked up.     • Are there any guidelines available for review for garbage and yard debris service? Yes. You may obtain guidelines by coming by Town Hall to the Administrative Department located at 118 Carolina Avenue.
  • Do I get to keep the roll cart if I move out of the Town Limits? No. The roll cart is to be left at the location that it is assigned to. Each roll cart has an identification number and is assigned to the responsible party who signs for it. The identification number is recorded in our system. Once the resident moves the can is re-assigned accordingly.

    • If I move within the corporate limits of the Town will the can be re-located to my new residence? Yes. You are to notify the Administrative Department, in writing, that you are moving and they will have the can re-located to your new address.
  • What day is my garbage picked up? You will be given a pick up day when you register for your can. Household garbage is picked up on either Monday or Thursday. One of these days will be assigned to you. Another way to determine when household garbage is picked up will be to watch your neighbors to see when they put their roll carts out for pickup.
